VMware Greater China is an organization of around 300 people, with over 100 employees in the field organization, over 150 in the R&D center, and remainder in G&A functions including Finance, HR, Legal, Facilities, and IT. The majority of employees are based in China. Hong Kong and Taiwan have around 10 employees in each and VMware employees in Taiwan are hosted by the EMC legal entity in Taipei.
The HR Specialist will partner closely with the HR Business Partner and staffing team for the GC region. This person will interact with Managers, Employees and Vendors to provide HR operations support for Greater China and will contribute to the overall success of the team through providing a high level of customer service and quality.
Responsibilities
· Manage day-to-day HR operations, including on-boarding and exit processes
· Enter new hire data to HRIS and Liaise with HRIS team on data integrity
· Maintain and manage employment files
· Notify and communicate with supporting function, HRSS and benefits providers regarding on-boarding and exit transactions
· Manage local HR service providers to ensure the quality and accuracy of service delivery for employee insurance, social security etc.
· Work with Asia Pacific Learning & Development team to facilitate Greater China learning activities including:
· Program Management: driving the completion of pre-work activities, liaising with vendors around program needs, completing evaluation
· Program Delivery administration: Global Program logistic coordination; Classroom management and China Learning Calendar management
· Manage and monitor HR operations related to payments via iProcurement.
· Work with the HR/HRSS team on processes and program improvements as needed.
· Ensure compliance with local labor law/statutory requirements
· Answer employee queries regarding HR procedure, policy, benefits programs etc.
· Assist HR Business Partners with employee relations
Requirements
· 3+ years of HR experience in an operational role.
· Familiar with Labor Law, HR related legislation and regulation of Greater China.
· Comfort with a very fast-paced environment
· Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and analytical skills.
· Self-directed, detail-oriented, problem solver and team player, reliable
· Self-motivated, collaborative and a strong focus on quality and efficiency
· Fluent in speaking and writing both English and Chinese
· Able to priorities and organize own work align with HR strategies and business needs
· Attention to detail
